Raynville Primary School

School Achievements

Last year was very successful in many ways including:

  • We improved our maths results at KS2 by 11%.
  • We have taken part in many sporting competitions (the only school in the area to attend everything) and we have done well in many of them. The pupils are always complimented on their sporting behaviour.
  • We won the Stan Kenyon Challenge to design a local amenity that was good for the environment.
  • Two of our pupils won the Young Leader Award for contributions to the community through the Youth on Health group.
  • The Wyther Improvement Group won a Civic Pride Award for our joint agency work on litter reduction.

As well as continuing to raise standards within the School Curriculum our Staff and Pupils have achieved success in a number of Nationally Recognised Awards

Investors in Pupils

The school has achieved this excellent award which improves the child’s understanding of their role in learning through the setting of individual and class targets. The pupils make rules for the class and they develop an understanding of the importance of teamwork.

Leeds Healthy School Standard

We became an Advanced Healthy School this year. This award was established to help schools become healthier places and to raise pupil achievement. A number of successful initiatives are taking place including the school's Health Forum. The forum meets regularly to support the school in promoting the Healthy School Standards. Our forum is made up of representatives from, staff and pupils, parents, the school nurse and members of the community.

Stephen Lawrence Award

We have achieved level three of the Stephen Lawrence Racial Harmony Award this year and we are now supporting other schools in this work.

Inclusion Charter Mark

The school has the Inclusion Charter Mark for our work with children with special needs.

Basic Skills Quality Mark

We were re-accredited for the Basic Skills Quality Mark for the third time, which shows that we teach English and maths well.

Investors In People

We were re-accredited for Investors in People. One of our strengths was that we provide outstanding training opportunities for support staff.

Schools Active Mark

This has been awarded for our work in Physical Education. Consideration was made about the schools contribution towards encouraging and developing physical activities as part of the schhool's curriculum, out of school activities and positive participation in interschool sporting events.
