Raynville Newspaper Day.
On Wednesday 12th March 2008 some Year 6 pupils went to West Leeds High School to make a newspaper for the ‘Make A Newspaper In A Day Competition.’ The children left school at 9.00am and returned at 3.00pm. They had completed half of the paper in the morning. Hannah Durno-McMonagle said “ I think that this whole thing is very exciting and educational at the same time. We had to do all the work by ourselves and it is very exciting because we think we have about 93.5% chance of winning!” Fingers crossed!!
On Thursday 6th March representatives from Year 5 went to the Stan Kenyon Award Ceremony at Leeds Civic Hall. Lots of important people were there including the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress. Everyone was very nervous and excited and we were really hoping we would win something. Eventually it got to the main overall winners award and the announcer read out Raynville Primary School. It was a fantastic feeling to be the best school in Leeds.

My Favourite Author is.. My favourite author is Roald Dahl because he writes funny and disgusting things. He also makes you use your imagination. Bethany Simpson 3D
Year 4 visits Oakwell Hall.
On the 11th and 14th March Year 4 visited Oakwell Hall and were Tudors for the day. “ We did lots of fun activities and made our own food which was lovely. We had vegetable soup, bread, salad, egg and cheese. For dessert we had apples and a biscuit. After lunch we played in the maze outside. We enjoyed all the activities we did. Besides cooking we made God’s Eyes, herb bags, wrote with quill pens and drew what we saw inside Oakwell Hall. We had a tour of the house and learnt about John Batt who lived there many years ago. It was a fantastic day! Lauren Rushfirth 4K
